For my design capstone project, I wanted to merge two things that I am quite passionate about: video games and mental health. There are a number of games out there that deal with mental health and depression in their own unique way, and I wanted to create my own vision of something like this. The concept that I had is called Spectrum, a game that takes the player through the different stages of depression that are represented with color. The further the player progresses and the more obstacles they overcome; the more color is introduced into the world. This is meant to help others see the progression of depression and the negative effects that it can have on someone’s life.
